Ideally , it should not be necessary to complain , since in business everything should be done carefully. Unfortunately, things do not always work out well. Errors occur and goods are mishandled, accidents happen, usually because of haste and lack of supervision. All of these result in complaint.
The buyers need not accept any goods received that are not in accordance with their order. Except as the result of altemations made by agreement with the seller, but they may make an offer to keep the goods at a reduced price.
The buyers are entitled to return to the seller any goods received that they did not order, but in the export trade it is usual for the buyers first to find out what the sellers' wishes are in the matter. This is a question of courtesy and consideration, as the reimportation of goods into a country will involve customs entries and other formalities, to say nothing of the actual cost of freight and insurance. It is also possible that the wrongly delivered goods may have been intended for another customer in the same country as the receivers , and so the goods can be sent on to the correct address. It is better if the sellers instruct their own shipping and forwarding agents to attend to this , through their branch or correspondents in the country of the buyers, rather than involve the trouble of sending on goods.
Replies to complaints should always be courteous. Even if the sellers think that the complaint is unfounded , they should not say so until they have good and reliable grounds on which to repudiate the claim. All complaints should be treated as serious matters and thoroughly investigated.
If the seller is the first to discover that a mistake has been made,he should not wait for a complaint, but should write a cable or telephone at once to let the buyer know, and either put the matter right or offer some compensation.
On receiving the complaint the sellers will make investigations , and if the complaint is justified they will at once apologize to the buyers and suggest solutions. If the buyers have offered to keep goods , the sellers will probably agree to this and to a price reduction.
The amount of the reduction will depend on how bad the mistake is, and in some cases a substantial reduction, even with consequent loss ,is of more advantage to the sellers than the expense and trouble of having the goods retumed to them, and of causing mconvenience to their customers.
However,if the value of the goods in question is high,it may be advisable to have them returned, although even in this case the added risk of damage in further transport may not be worth incurring.
There is no need for the seller to go into a long story of how the mistake was made. A short explanation may be useful, but generally speaking, the buyers are not interested in hearing how or why the error occurred but only in having the matter put right,in receiving the goods they ordered-or at least value for the money they have paid-or in knowing when they may expect to receive the delayed consignment.

In medical school, most doctors learn that people with chronic conditions should take their medicine at steady rates. "It's a terrible way to treat disease," says Dr. Richard Martin. For example, asthmatics (气喘患者)are most likely to suffer during the night. Yet most patients strive to keep a constant level of medicine in their blood day and night, whether by breathing in on an inhaler (吸入器) four times a day or taking a pill each morning and evening. In recent studies, researchers have found that a large mid-afternoon dose of a bron chodilator (支气管扩张剂) can be as safe as several small doses, and better for preventing night-time attacks.
If the night belongs to asthma, the dawn belongs to high blood pressure and heart disease. Heart attacks twice as common at 9 a. m. as at 1l p. m. Part of tile reason is that our blood pressure falls predictably at night, then peaks as we start to work for the day. "Doctors know that", says Dr. Henry Black of Chicago Medical Center," but until now, we haven't been able to do anything about it. "Most blood pressure drugs provide 18 to 20 hours of relief. But because they're taken in the morning, they're least effective when most needed. "You take your pill at 7 and it's working by 9," says Dr. William White of the University of Connecticut Health Center. "But by that time you've gone through the worst four hours of the day with no protection," Bedtime dosing would prevent that lapse, but it would also push blood Pressure to dangerously low levels during the night.
According to the passage, how do human bodies maintain balance?

B.People increase or lower the body temperature by sweating.
C.People's hearts pound to compensate when the blood pressure goes up.

The Bermuda Triangle is one【51】the greatest mysteries of the sea. In this triangular area between Florida, Puerto Rico and Bermuda in Atlantic, ships and airplanes【52】to disappear more often than in【53】parts of the ocean. And they do so【54】leaving any sign of all accident or any dead bodies.
It is【55】that Christopher Columbus was the first person to record strange happenings in the area. His compass(指南针) stopped working, a flame came down from the sky, and a wave 100 to 200 feet high carried his ship about a mile away.
The most famous disappearance in the Bermuda Triangle was the US Naval Air Flight 19.【56】 December 5,1945, five bomber(轰炸机) planes carrying 14 men【57】on a training mission from the Florida coast. Later that day, all communications with Flight 19 were lost. They just disappeared without a trace.
The next morning, 242 planes and 19 ships took part in the largest air-sea(海空联合的) search in history . But they found nothing.
Some people blamed the disappearances【58】supernatural forces. It is suggested the【59】ships and planes were either transported to other times and places, kidnapped(诱拐)by aliens【60】attacked by sea creatures.
There are【61】natural explanations, though. The US Navy says that the Bermuda triangle is one of two places on earth【62】a magnetic(有磁性的) compass points towards true north【63】magnetic north.【64】planes and ships can lose their way if they don't make adjustments .
The area also has changing weather and is known【65】its high waves. Storms can turn up suddenly and destroy a plane or ship. Fast currents could then sweep away any trace of an accident.

Our bodies are wonderfully skillful at maintaining balance. When the temperature jumps, we sweat to cool down. When our blood pressure falls, our hearts pound to compensate. As it turns out, though, our natural state is not a steady one. Researchers are finding that everything from blood pressure to brain function varies rhythmically with the cycles of sun, moon and seasons. And their insights are yielding new strategies for keeping away such common killers as heart disease and cancer. Only one doctor in 20 has a good knowledge of the growing field of "chronotherapeutics", the strategic use of time (chronos) in medicine. But according to a new American Medical Association poll, three out of four are eager to change that. "That field is exploding," says Michael Smolensky. "Doctor used to look at us like, what spaceship did you guys get off? Now they're thirsty to know more."

A friend of mine had this problem and handled it in the most tactful (得体的) way I've ever seen. Instead of telling her admirer directly, she devoted herself to introducing him to every girl she knew. Whenever she had a date with him, she arranged to drop in at the home of one of her girl friends. At last he clicked (一见如故) with one of these girls, and then everyone was happy. My friend was rid of a problem and she still had the young man as a friend, which was just what she wanted him to be.
Of course this solution may not work for you. You may have your own way of dealing with the problem. But whatever you decide to do, keep one thing in mind—the boy in question has feelings every bit as sensitive as your own. So try to find a way of discouraging him without hurting him.
