具体地说，我们要从日常生活中酌量选择喜欢的东西，如漫画、广播周刊、电视节目等，设计成有趣而且目标明确的教学活动。在此，以漫画为例具体说明。(82)对于华文水平极低的学生来说，要求他们读一篇短文，已是十分困难的事，更别说是一本书了。我们深信漫画是协助他们克服阅读华文书籍心理障碍的有效工具。

(83)此外，也可要求学生分享阅读这漫画(comic books)的读后感，这既能训练说话能力，也能引起其他学生的阅读兴趣。

接着老师便可按“循序渐进”的原则，引导学生看较有深度的漫画，如：由金庸或古龙的武侠漫画、蔡志忠漫画、中国历史故事漫画等。最后，才顺势将他们引导向阅读纯文字的华文书籍。
